STANLEY
Character Type: Meta Participant
Realm: Rectify
Faction Alignment: Enderman
Narrative Role: Wildcard / Observer / Reality Exception / Fourth Wall Breaker
Stanley is one of the most unusual figures connected to Rectify. Existing partially outside the normal rules of the world, he possesses meta-level authority that allows him to influence events in ways other characters cannot. Despite this power, Stanley behaves more like an unpredictable observer than a ruler, often balancing humor and chaos with rare moments of decisive intervention that reshape the fate of the world.

History
Presence in Rectify
Stanley appears within Rectify as both participant and observer, often moving alongside other survivors during key events in the world’s history. Unlike many characters driven by power, ideology, or legacy, Stanley approaches situations with a mixture of humor and unpredictability.
His behavior sometimes makes him appear unserious, yet he repeatedly proves capable of stepping into crucial moments when events threaten to spiral out of control.
Meta-Level Authority
One of Stanley’s most defining traits is his ability to act outside the usual rules governing the world.
In rare circumstances, he can perform actions that other characters cannot—interventions that break the normal limitations of the environment. These actions are treated not as abilities that others can replicate, but as exceptions that reinforce Stanley’s unique position within the narrative. This makes him both powerful and difficult to categorize within Rectify’s hierarchy.
Among this, Stanley is also aware that he is in a Zion Studios project. He sees past the fourth wall in ways others can not. Although he dislikes his presence within the story, he finds ways to cope by making fun of anything related to Zion Studios, with zero filter. Stanley will literally communicate with the audience when he feels the need to, in order to cope.
The Release of Creeper
One of Stanley’s most significant moments occurs when he frees Creeper from the indestructible ice surrounding Rectify Mountain.
The ice had been created when Creeper used Ava’s angelic power to freeze the mountain and halt Herobrine’s corruption. Normally, the ice cannot be broken by any natural or technological means.
Stanley’s intervention breaks that rule, releasing Creeper and allowing him to return to the world. This moment demonstrates Stanley’s unusual authority and reinforces that his actions operate outside standard lore mechanics.
Observer of Consequences
Despite possessing unusual influence, Stanley does not attempt to control the world directly.
Instead, he tends to act as a participant within events, allowing other characters to make decisions and face their consequences. His rare interventions occur only when the balance of the world itself is threatened.
This restraint keeps him from becoming a dominating force in the narrative, preserving the agency of other characters.
Family Status
Unknown to many, but Stanley is currently the situationally adopted father to Jerry. During the events of Coco SMP – Season 1, Stanley decided that he was going make Jerry his son.
This would later be reinforced, during Coco SMP – Season 2, when Stanley proposed to Jerry using a Sea Pickle, and forced Jerry to marry him into Father and Son-hood. The ceremony was later hosted by Cherry, at the Coco Church, where she had ceremonially covenanted them as official Father and Son. Later, they would come to realize that Stanley had sent Madden to disguise as him, so he didn’t have to commit to anything.
