ENDERMAN
Character Type: Mythic Axis
Realm: Rectify
Faction Alignment: The Aerial Balance
Narrative Role: Observer / Gatekeeper / Memory Bearer
Enderman, later known personally as Fred, is one of the most important stabilizing figures in Rectify’s history. Unlike rulers, warriors, or inventors, his defining trait is awareness. Enderman moves naturally between realms and retains memory across resets, collapses, and temporal disruptions. Because he remembers what others forget, he acts as a silent witness to the world’s history and intervenes only when the survival of the realm itself is at risk.

History
Origins as an Original Mob
Enderman originates in the earliest eras of Rectify’s recorded history, existing naturally at the boundaries between spaces. Unlike later travelers who require portals or technology to cross realms, Enderman moves through them instinctively.
Reality does not break when he travels; it yields to him.
This ability places him in a unique position within Rectify’s history, allowing him to observe events that occur across different realms and timelines.
The Burden of Memory
One of Enderman’s defining characteristics is his ability to retain memory across resets, collapses, and disruptions of time.
Where other beings forget previous versions of events or lost timelines, Enderman remembers them.
This memory is not treated as power but as responsibility. Rather than constantly correcting history, Enderman allows events to unfold naturally unless failure to intervene would result in the destruction of the world itself.
Relationship to Realm Stability
Because Enderman instinctively understands the rules governing realm boundaries, he is able to detect when the balance between worlds begins to weaken.
His teleportation is not simply movement—it is navigation through the underlying structure of reality.
This makes him uniquely capable of recognizing threats that others cannot see, especially those tied to corruption, dimensional instability, or inter-realm manipulation.
Becoming Fred
At some point in his long existence, Enderman adopts the personal name Fred.
This is not a disguise but a deliberate act of grounding himself in individuality rather than remaining an abstract entity defined solely by function.
By allowing others to address him personally, Fred chooses connection over isolation, even while maintaining his role as an observer of events.
Witness to the Eras of Rectify
Across multiple historical eras—from the early foundations of Rectify to the conflicts surrounding Herobrine, Enderman remains present as a silent witness.
He rarely seeks recognition or authority. Instead, he observes the consequences of decisions made by others and acts only when the collapse of the realm itself becomes imminent.
Through him, the story of Rectify retains continuity even when time, memory, and reality begin to fracture.
